Retirement and pension provision Health economics Demographic Change Microsimulation

I am deputy head of the department of public economics at the DIW Berlin. I received my PhD in Economics from Freie Universität Berlin in 2012. I was  a member of the Graduate Center of the DIW. Between 2012 and 2016 I was a visiting professor at the Humboldt-Universität Berlin in addition to my work at the DIW Berlin. I am an affiliate of the Health Econometrics and Data Group (HEDG) and Netspar Fellow. From 2014 to 2017, I was Ombudsman for good scientific practice. My research focuses on issues of social protection and demographic change. For this I use empirical methods of microeconometrics and microsimulation.
